PM ruffled feathers after 'bashing' Umno ministers over emergency flip-flop
Jetson: How can Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin attack Umno ministers after the Yang di-Pertuan Agong rejected the emergency declaration?
They (the Umno ministers) at least have respect for His Majesty’s decision. His attack clearly shows that Muhyiddin and Bersatu are dissatisfied with the refusal.
Was Muhyiddin thinking of the nation and its people when asking for the emergency motion? Was he not aware of the serious repercussions on the people? Economically as well as having their rights taken away from them.
No more lies, tell us where Umno and its MPs stand if full power was not in the hands of the cabinet but lay in the hands of one man - the prime minister? Would their positions also be in danger? Who has the full authority if an emergency is declared?
Umno was right in the first place to disagree to that proposal. Not only would that mean showing disloyalty to His Majesty but it also put Umno under the thumb of the PM.
Appum: Ever since Pakatan Harapan, and now Perikatan Nasional (PN), we are seeing the "weakest" party holding the power to be the PM.
Perhaps this is why the nation is politically unstable all this while.
So, it is high time parties like PKR and DAP to come and claim their rightful representation in future political settings. The policy should be the more seats you have, the more say you have in any coalition in the future. And also, bring in the anti-hopping laws.
Another crucial law to enact in future parliamentary (topic not related here) sessions is that anyone found guilty of criminal charges shall go straight to jail and then he or she can appeal to higher courts from inside the jail cell and not be free as a bird and as if nothing has happened.
Shine: I’m not surprised at all. Under Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Bersatu had bullied Harapan, particularly PKR. It helped divide PKR into two camps, while DAP and Amanah were helpless. Bersatu kept the prime minister’s position and all-important posts even though they had no brains.
Now, Bersatu under Muhyiddin is using the same tactic. The party is keeping the premiership and other important positions. It is trying to destroy Umno by creating two camps - Umno leaders with posts and those without positions.
This is because Umno is a threat to Bersatu. PAS, however, isn’t a threat as it is useless. Just give them a lot of posts and they are happy. PAS will support whoever is PM. They had supported Najib Abdul Razak and then Mahathir. Now they are supporting Muhyiddin.
It is now between Bersatu and Umno. And Umno is going to lose it all to Bersatu.
OrangePony5652: Muhyiddin is walking on thin ice. It will break anytime. He is currently held at ransom by Umno. Of course, PAS will give their irrevocable support.
They never had it so good, creaming off the goodies shamelessly through the backdoor cabinet posts. It won't last, cracks are widening.
PurpleOrca1561: Come on Muhyiddin, call it quits. You have lost your support, and you are not in a position where you have full control of anything. You are also wasting a lot of public money to sustain your position.
You are just making a mockery of yourself. It's a great embarrassment to the country, an incompetent PM making a fool of himself just to retain powers. It's so obvious.
Please step down with some dignity.
Iphonezours: Umno, all this uncertainty with the current PN government is due to these ‘traitors’.
You agreed to join this alliance just wanting to be back in power. After eight months, a rocky relationship and the country coming close to a declaration of emergency, clearly Harapan was so much more stable despite their internal differences.
You could have just waited and been an effective opposition till the next general election. Then the rakyat could have made their choice. Now you are part of the mess.
Apa Harapan: First, Umno ministers should resign from the cabinet if they have now reneged on their earlier decision. They have no principles as usual.
Second, what did Muhyiddin expect when he 'bribed' Umno MPs by giving them positions to stay in power? These are frogs who will jump wherever the wind blows.
You lie in the bed that you made. So why so unhappy now when you know these are not principled politicians but the 'what's in there for me?' types? Serve you right.
Sentinel: Umno cabinet ministers don’t have the gumption. You could have spared us the nonsense but no, when you should have made your stand on basic principles you didn't.
That's why you have Muhyiddin placing the blame game on you when it was his mistake.
FlabberPro: Let the wolves battle it out among themselves. In the end, they hurt themselves. You betrayed the nation, and now they betrayed you.
You turned your back on those who once trusted you, and now, you know how it feels like to have them turn their backs on you. Bitter medicine, isn't it? You chose the dark side.
Citizen_Zero: I don't care if Muhyiddin is upset, I don't care if Umno got bashed. The people did not vote for them. They mean nothing to us.
Both of them are unhappy with each other, for what? All of them are half-past-six leaders to agree with a half-past-six emergency idea in the first place.
When that fails, all blame one another. How much more display of stupidity and incompetence do you want?
Malaysia Is Surrealist Art That Can Be Bought: It's surreal and quite funny, when a den of old lions wonders with disdain why the pack of hyenas they have entered into a pact with are now behaving like hyenas.
Monologue: It's all about power with Covid-19 as a pawn. None of these politicians cares about us. We are on our own. Pray and stay safe! - Mkini
