Yoursay Tit For Tat Over Logos
YOURSAY | ’Can’t we even celebrate National Day as a united nation?’
Just throwing out ideas, PN Youth on alternative National Day logo
Selangor used its own Merdeka logo last year
Coward: Perikatan Nasional Youth chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari, you are a youth chief. Act like one. Normal party members can "throw out ideas" and "think out loud". You cannot do that.
What you say will be taken as the position of the party. Grow up.
You have a point that this and past National Day logo and theme has too much political bias, but instead of voicing that out, you mismanaged the whole thing and gave your opponents the chance to hit back at you.
You are not Muda’s youthful chief Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, who can hide behind an inexperienced shield if he ever made such a fundamental error.
Syed Saddiq won't find himself in this type of situation despite his inexperience. At your level, it is shamefully incompetent.
Pink: Honestly, we have had so many slogans, mottos and patriotic songs for National Day.
I can’t remember any of them except the one in 1998 - “Our country, our responsibility”, the year when my salary as a civil servant was cut and I had to take turns with other office mates cleaning our office because all the cleaners were terminated.
We were in a financial crisis, and instead of rioting like in other countries, we were united in our sufferings, we showed our true love for the country by making sacrifices.
It was Malaysians at their best.
Let National Day be the day when we show appreciation to the country by cleaning up the country, helping the poor, celebrating by having a grand dinner within each neighbourhood and offering prayers.
It should not be the day when we are herded like cows and bullied by politicians.
BusinessFirst: Once again, the clueless Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil falls into a trap set by Perikatan Nasional (PN) and makes the unity government look like hypocrites and incompetent.
Before anyone condemns the PN states, you should at least check the facts first before opening your mouth.
Is it not bad enough that the government did not abolish the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act (Sosma), reduce prices of consumer goods and give equal parliamentary allocations?
Do you know the word on the street is that this government is all talk, no action?
Please do not think of winning the Johor by-elections by a big margin. Be realistic and humble and aim just to win.
Even the Malays in Johor are not unenthusiastic about this government. So do not be surprised if the results are a lot closer than expected.
Please also do not blame the "Green Wave" for all your problems.
The real problem is that you are just playing politics and not solving real problems.
People are suffering and more talk does not help.
So for friends and supporters of Pakatan Harapan, the best thing you can do is stop being cheerleaders.
Tell Harapan the truth, especially on how Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and his cabinet ministers need to buck up.
Apanama is back: The Madani administration's full hypocrisy is on display. Moreover, the communication minister has been proven again to be incompetent.
Time to reshuffle the cabinet. What goes around comes around biting the administration. Previously you did it to the federal government and now others do it back to you. Tit for tat!
Malaysian.1548239364942: The reality is that the Harapan parties, when they were the opposition, resorted to very extreme and destabilising tactics to win power at all costs.
Anwar himself was not above perpetuating instability with his constant claims of having the numbers to overthrow the government.
Harapan was the one who chose not to hold the state elections at the same time as the 15th general election to spite the former prime minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob's administration.
This resulted in an even worse wipeout during the recent state elections than what would have occurred if they had contested in November 2022.
Now this logo thing is shown to be precisely what Harapan themselves did when in opposition.
Now they have power, no need to act surprised that these tactics are being used against them. The “rakyat” learnt this from Harapan.
Hiraga: Countries all over the world can come together to celebrate their Independence Day or National Day.
Here in Malaysia, the political parties are the culprits who are sowing seeds of disunity by creating confusing themes and logos.
We are doomed if we can't celebrate our National Day as a united nation.
BlueShark1548: Fadhli, national affairs including our Merdeka Day celebrations and its theme are the prerogative of Putrajaya, not the state governments.
Anyone who advocates an agenda that causes disunity, especially on the occasion of Merdeka advocates disunity and could be considered treason!
Stop trying to divide the nation and its people! - Mkini
