When Shut Up Is The Only Option
THE Movement Control Order (MCO) is extended amid rising concern over the Covid-19 new cases. The people are being sucked deeper into difficulty, with more economic sectors have to dwell with unnecessary predicaments.
With lesser to eat and wear, the bread and butter issue are most critical. From big industrialists to car wash operators, the pinch feel much painful. Go around town and you will see more people trying to at least make a ringgit from any activity that can make ends meet.
In his many postings via Twitter and Facebook, Umno President Zahid Hamidi made many suggestion to the Perikatan Nasional government to improve or make changes to some policies meant to aid the rakyat and the economy. His great concern now is for the well being of the people, notably the vaccine and access to KWSP. Moratorium is another thing.
Nope! He had never criticised the policies but asked Putrajaya to weigh some options deemed suitable to ease the people's burden. However, by doing so he was somehow or rather labelled as an Opposition MP. That's how it goes for the Barisan Nasional chairman.
I am yet to verify rumors that few Umno MPs who are critical of the government are treated as Oppositions, thus are allocated as low as RM100,000 per anum each for their respective constituency. When other pro-PN MPs get RM3 million, they are getting similar amount to those of the Opposition MPs.
Reliable information told me that the constituencies are Bagan Datuk, Pekan and Pontian (for being vocal of PN), and Padang Rengas and Machang for withdrawing support for Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin. Nothing was mentioned about Gua Musang although it is a know fact that Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah never supported Muhyiddin from the very beginning.
If its true, then the government we have today is totally iron fist. By imposing the emergency to protect the minority government is already unthinkable. As I mentioned in earlier jottings, the MCO is good enough to contain the spread of Covid-19.
I dont wanna argue over the issue but Zahid, Najib Razak and Ahmad Maslan are now the targets of injustices for airing what are best for the country and its people. The economic survival. Don't gimme crap excuse about the inflow of FDIs and how strong our economy are when figures can be fabricated.
Umno and BN are being accused of power crazy by applying pressure for a fresh general election be held so that we can have a legitimate government. Yes, legitimate! However, all Umno wants is the Parliament should be dissolved when the time is right, when the pandemic is under control. When did Zahid mention about NOW?
Legitimacy is most paramount in all aspects of life. A legitimate government, a legitimate party president, rights and ownership. Is the present government a legitimate? Let's shut up or you'll face the axe! Right?
The emergency can be extended or shortened. In my political assessment, no way it will be shortened unless the King and the Malay Rulers decide otherwise. The rakyat has much to lose and nothing more to gain. We do not hate the government. They are doing their best to control the pandemic and assist the people but still, the issue is about legitimacy!
Let's not discuss what Health DG said the other day about the swelling number of cases were actually that of the past one or two months because it's annoying. Really unbelievable... but let's consider the options available to make life better under the MCO and emergency, and who's the gainers and losers.
Oh yes, didn't Malaysia voiced out concern over the coup and one-year emergency order in Myanmar? It's akin to a pot calling the kettle black! LOL...
