Adly Zahari says Melaka Pakatan Harapan prefers to take the issue of the state assembly’s dissolution to court. (Bernama pic)PETALING JAYA: Melaka Pakatan Harapan chief Adly Zahari says the coalition does not have any plans to meet with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong today.
“Our focus is to bring the dissolution of the Melaka state assembly to court for them to go through the process and facts, including (whether) it was in line with Article 19 (2) of the state constitution,” said the former Melaka chief minister in a Facebook post.
Yesterday, it was reported that 15 assemblymen from Melaka, including 11 PH representatives, planned to seek an audience with the King today to resolve the crisis sparked by the dissolution of the state assembly.

Pengkalan Batu assemblyman Norhizam Hassan Baktee said former chief minister Idris Haron, who has since been sacked by Umno, had suggested for the elected representatives to take the matter up with the King, Berita Harian reported.
“We will take a bus to the Palace. This has been agreed upon by everyone,” the Malay daily quoted him as saying.
Melaka governor Mohd Ali Rustam dissolved the state assembly on Tuesday following an announcement that four assemblymen had retracted support for chief minister Sulaiman Md Ali, leaving his government with only 13 seats in the 28-seat assembly.
The four were Norhizam, Sungai Udang assemblyman Idris and Pantai Kundor assemblyman Nor Azman Hassan, all of Umno, and Bersatu’s Telok Mas assemblyman Noor Effandi Ahmad.
Idris, Nor Azman and Noor Effandi have since been sacked by their parties.
On Tuesday, state assembly speaker Ab Rauf Yusoh said Article 19 (2) of the Melaka constitution allowed the governor to prorogue or dissolve the assembly.
However, the PH presidential council contested the view yesterday, saying Ali should have also met with the 15 assemblymen who claimed to have the majority to form the state government.
Rauf also said Melaka would hold a snap election in 60 days after Ali dissolved the state assembly. - FMT
