Vote Ppbm If You Want Development Muhyiddin Tells Tanjung Piai Voters
(The Star) – Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has urged voters in Tanjung Piai to vote wisely and pick a candidate that is able to continue to develop the area.
The Pagoh MP, who is also Pakatan Harapan election director, said voters in the constituency understand that this by-election would not change the government, either in the state or federal level.
“However, if they wrongly choose, then the next three and a half years will be a long time, where problems would not be solved if the wakil rakyat comes from the opposition,” he added.
Muhyiddin, who is also Home Minister, said this in his speech during Pakatan’s mega ceramah held at Kukup here on Wednesday (Nov 13) night.
Among the Pakatan leaders who attended the ceramah included Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, DAP secretary general Lim Guan Eng, and Parti Amanah Negara president Mohamad Sabu.
He added that so far, almost RM20mil in allocation has been approved by the federal government for development projects in Tanjung Piai.
Muhyiddin also said Pakatan would also focus on several issues in Tanjung Piai, such as cost of living, employment, health and tourism to help improve the rakyat’s wellbeing.
“Tourism is one of the key industry that we have identified in Tanjung Piai, where recently the state government has reopened the Kukup International Ferry Terminal, bringing visitors from Indonesia.
“This is good move to improve the local economy. However, I received requests by Singapore visitors asking to ferry them from Tuas to here instead of driving,” he added.
Muhyiddin said he had discussed the matter with Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Dr Sahruddin Jamal, where the state government would look into the matter if Pakatan wins the by-election.
