Video Of Drowning Child A Lesson Not To Swim By The Beach During The Monsoon
THE monsoon season can be great for many things. Students who want to play truant can quote the bad weather as an excuse.
Sleeping or resting and relaxation is much easier when it is cool and rainy outside. But everyone can agree that the monsoon season is not the best time to be surfing the waves.
With the sea in such a rough state, it is likely that the waves will be surfing you Instead. A video posted on X by netizen JalalMisai about sums up how dangerous it is to play by the beach during this time.
A boy in the video could be seen swallowed by the pounding waves, only to be carried into its foamy depths.
An adult, likely one of his parents, tried to rescue the boy several times but his efforts were made difficult by the incoming waves. Likely he would have drowned if left to his own devices.
Even with so many people in the vicinity, it was clear that the rescue would not be as simple as it seems.
Although the incident ended without tragedy, thankfully, the post is a stark reminder to anyone looking to have some fun either at the beach or by the river especially during this season.
The poster JalalMisai said it was best to just take a bath at one’s home instead of braving the dangers of the monsoon.
As for the post which has since garnered over 2,000 shares, the comment section was filled with netizens roasting the parents for their irresponsibility, and rightly so.
According to netizen BudakKampung, the children are not to blame as they are unable to differentiate between what’s dangerous and what’s not.
BudakKampung said the onus is on the mother and father who were having fun playing with their handphone to look after their children who were playing by the beach or river.
Another netizen said that since the tsunami of 2004, he never brought his kids out to bathe in the sea anymore, only at the pool.
Netizen notak added that one’s clothes also contributed to the difficulty of the rescue.
He pointed out that loose shirts or those with excess cloth will make it easy for the rescuer to tumble when they either step on it or when the cloth expands, becoming heavy.
Notak said that was what happened when the auntie in the video stepped on her own pants.
Clothes or no clothes, we believe the best safety advise is not to be at the beach during the monsoon season.
This is one time where parents should tell their kids to stay indoors and play their playstation 5 instead. – Focus Malaysia
