Umno Demands Rci On Harapan S Allegations Against Bn

Umno's supreme council today reaffirmed its support for Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and has made six demands
1. That a royal commission of inquiry be established to probe all of Pakatan Harapan's allegations of wrongdoing directed at the previous BN government and Tabung Haji's management
2. Review the recent sale of assets by government-linked bodies such as Tabung Haji, Khazanah Nasional Bhd and the Armed Forces Fund Board (LTAT) among others
3. Re-open all cases involving political personalities that were dropped by the Pakatan Harapan government, including an alleged corruption case involving the Penang undersea tunnel and three highways project, allegedly valued at RM6.3 billion
4. Expedite investigations and press charges against those involved in the death of firefighter Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim
5. Cancel plans to establish the Independent Police Complaints and Misconduct Commission
6. A freeze on the policy to reduce the size of civil service
In a statement today, Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi (above) said these six demands will fulfil the aspirations of the rakyat and ensure the interest of Islam and the country
The Umno supreme council meeting today was the first after the formation of the new cabinet on Monday
Zahid said Umno supported Muhyiddin as the prime minister as part of a moral decision to end the political crisis that erupted late last month
"Umno supported Muhyiddin to form the government on March 1 purely because it was our moral responsibility to save the country and the rakyat from suffering due to the political crisis
"Umno will continue to support the new government led by Muhyiddin until the 15th general election (with conditions)," said Zahid
These conditions include fulfilling the aspirations of the rakyat, ensure equitable treatment for all walks of life, fixing economic woes and not repeating Harapan's alleged mistakes in managing race relations. - Mkini
