The Government Needs To Ignore The Opposition
Hence it is all about race. The RM250 billion COVID-19 stimulus package is going to the working-class Malays and not to the Chinese businesses. That is why Pakatan Harapan says RM250 billion is not enough and it should be RM750 billion instead. But in the same breath they question where the RM250 billion is going to come from.NO HOLDS BARREDRaja Petra KamarudinPakatan Harapan leaders such as Lim Kit Siang, Anwar Ibrahim and Khalid Samad insist that parliament be convened so that they can debate the government’s RM250 billion COVID-19 stimulus package
Why do they need to debate the stimulus package? What is wrong with it? Is it not good enough? Is it flawed? Can it be improved? How to improve it? What more should be done
You do not need to have a parliament debate to answer all these questions. If Lim Kit Siang, Lim Guan Eng, Anwar Ibrahim, Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Khalid Samad, Mat Sabu (or any of those opposition people who day in and day out are screaming about the government not being good enough or not doing enough) have a better idea, just say so. They keep screaming about the inadequacies but offer no ideas about what to do instead
Basically, the Pakatan Harapan people always look at half a glass of water as being half empty and never half full. That is the nature of the beast. They just want to oppose for the sake of opposing and talk for the sake of talking. That is why they are called pembangkang or opposition. Kerja mereka bangkang saja
Pakatan Rakyat ousted Khalid Ibrahim for refusing to spend RM100 million of taxpayers’ money to finance the party and the party leadersLook at all the examples over the years. They ousted Selangor Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim (their own leader, mind you) because he refused to spend government money to help Pakatan Rakyat and the party leaders and candidates in the general election
Pakatan Rakyat wanted Khalid to fork out RM100 million of Selangor state money and he refused. He said it was wrong to spend the taxpayers’ money to fund the party and the party leaders and candidates in the general election
Then Khalid refused to pay RM2.6 billion for a water concession company worth only RM250 million. It seems hidden in that RM2.6 billion price tag was RM250 million in what Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad would call “offset” for Pakatan Rakyat
For all these “crimes” they ousted Khalid and tried to replace him with Dr Wan Azizah as Anwar Ibrahim’s proxy. However, HRH the Sultan of Selangor refused to accept Wan Azizah and gave the job to Azmin Ali instead. Pakatan Rakyat was so angry that they attacked the Sultan and accused him of all sorts of things
Khalid Ibrahim refused to pay RM2.6 billion for a company worth only RM250 millionLater, they spent even more money (something like RM10 billion) to take over the water concession companies, and this was what Malaysiakini reported last year:Meanwhile, Amirudin said the cost of acquiring Splash was fully borne by Air Selangor with RM1.9 billion financed through funds channelled by Paab, and the remaining RM650 million would be paid in instalments over nine years. On the financing obtained from Paab, the repayment would be made through long-term lease payments over 45 years.“In addition, the bonds and loans owed by the concessionaires amounting to more than RM8 billion will also be taken over by Paab and it will be restructured into the long-term lease.“Water-related loans obtained by the state government from the federal government amounting to about RM1.1 billion will also be restructured into the long-term lease, which will have a positive impact in improving the state’s financial position,” Amirudin said.
Selangor will still be paying for the next 45 yearsYes, a huge amount of money indeed. But the question is: how much of that is “offset” (or kickback, duit kopi, under-table money, etc.) for PKR and Pakatan Harapan? This was what Khalid tried to prevent and for that they sacked him
Okay, then they accused Najib Tun Razak of corruption when he received a RM2.6 billion donation from the Arabs and used it to finance the general election and fund party activities. They even accused him of stealing that money, money they said which belongs to the taxpayers (even though the trial confirmed the money was not stolen but came from the Arabs)
The inconsistencies of Pakatan Harapan is mind-boggling. When Khalid refused to spend taxpayers’ money on the party and the party leaders they sacked him. Then when Najib finances the party and party leaders through donations they want to send him to jail
In other words, as far as Pakatan Harapan is concerned, nothing you do is right. Everything is wrong. So why do you think they want parliament to be convened to debate the government’s RM250 billion COVID-19 stimulus package
They hope to turn the parliament debate on the RM250 billion COVID-19 stimulus package into a vote of no confidence on MuhyiddinIt is so that they can attack the stimulus package and then try to block it. And if they can block the stimulus package and get it rejected (or not approved by parliament), that would tantamount to a vote of no confidence against Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin. And, if that happens, Muhyiddin will fall and with him the Perikatan Nasional government
And, once that happens, Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong will appoint Anwar Ibrahim as the new prime minister or PM9 (they hope)
Why doesn’t Pakatan Harapan tell us now what is wrong with the government’s RM250 billion COVID-19 stimulus package? Why do you need to debate this in parliament? If you support it then say so that you support it. If you do not support it then tell us why. Stop playing cat-and-mouse games
First Pakatan Harapan questions where the RM250 billion is going to come from. Malaysia is going bankrupt, says Pakatan Harapan. Malaysia does not have RM250 billion to spend
Then they say RM250 billion is not enough. They need an additional RM500 billion. Hence it should be RM750 billion instead of RM250 billion
Why is RM250 billion not enough? Why must it be RM750 billion instead
More than 90% of businesses are SMIs-SMEs and mainly Chinese-ownedThat is because the SMIs-SMEs are not getting enough support in the RM250 billion COVID-19 stimulus package. Most of the support is going to individuals and wage earners. And these are mainly Malays whereas 90% of the businesses in Malaysia are SMIs and mainly Chinese-owned
Hence it is all about race. The RM250 billion COVID-19 stimulus package is going to the working-class Malays and not to the SMI Chinese businesses. That is why Pakatan Harapan says RM250 billion is not enough and it should be RM750 billion instead. But in the same breath they question where the RM250 billion is going to come from
And that is why the government needs to ignore the opposition. Nothing they say and do is sincere. And they will oppose everything the government does. Keluar duit salah, tak keluar duit pun salah. RM250 bilion banyak sangat, RM250 bilion tak cukup. Kedua-dua tak betul. Itu yang dipanggil pembangkang
