Tajuddin Loves Umno Wants Suspension Lifted
Former Pasir Salak MP Tajuddin Abdul Rahman hoped that his six-year suspension from Umno would be lifted so he can help the party during the upcoming state elections.
According to Bernama, Tajuddin told reporters at his Aidilfitri open house in Pasir Salak, Perak yesterday that he was not keen on joining other parties.
"If I am no longer suspended by Umno, of course, I will campaign, and help work for the party. If possible, I don't want to be with other parties," he said.
Tajuddin (above) has appealed against his suspension which was in place since October last year. Two days ago, Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the appeal would be deliberated by the party's supreme council.
In recent weeks, several other former Umno figures such as Annuar Musa and Noh Omar signalled that they will not be appealing. They were expelled from Umno in December last year and January this year respectively.
Noh Omar (left) and Annuar Musa seen recently at PAS Selangor Hari Raya open house event in Shah AlamAnnuar said he will be joining "the right party" soon while Noh has pledged allegiance to Perikatan Nasional.
Khairy Jamaluddin, who was also expelled in January, has yet to issue signals on his plans.
Meanwhile, Tajuddin said he loved Umno and hoped that his appeal would be resolved soon.
"I am confident that if it is brought to the supreme council the decision will be positive because I have explained in a letter twice before this and once again yesterday.
"The only mistake I made was being too vocal on party issues," he said. - Mkini
