Our borders are porous; assisted a great deal by corrupted individuals in our enforcement agencies. Unfortunately the majority of them are Malays. They may be supporters of the Malay parties but definitely not the DAP
All the same they are traitors to the country and should be dealt with by the force of the law. Or will they?
Visa On Arrival (VOA) is a recipe for disaster. The PH government should be aware that promotion of tourism does not mean relaxing entry requirements (through VOA) to the country, carte blanche to these foreign nationals.
Saudi Arabia, despite our dim views of them as a country and a people, to my mind have better immigration policies and enforcements.
Have we heard of Saudi Arabian 'Visa on Arrival' facilities for immigrants ? Whether for work or pious pilgrims on religious tourism there?
Business and ziarah visas are strictly controlled by the Saudis, even endorsement by multilateral agencies like the Islamic Development Bank cuts no ice with Saudi immigration officials.
Admittedly, there are overstayers in Saudi Arabia, particularly citizens from the Sub continent and Indonesia.
Stories have been told that overstayers who have been arrested by Saudi authorities are “ tortured” through physical discomforts.
These detainees, hundreds of them, are said to be placed in a single enclosure where only one or two toilets available.
Imagine the torture faced by these illegals, having to queue up for hours just to urinate and defecate. Just like In P Ramlee’s Seniman Bujang Lapok movie.
In contrast, Malaysia seems to be pussy footing and treating this serious issue with kids gloves.
There is corruption at every levels of the agencies concerned.
Then there is the perpetual Olympic sized race between the KDN and the Tourism Ministry. The latter just wants to see increases in inbound tourist arrivals regardless of the methods / instruments used and oblivious of the danger that it poses to this country.
All these have to be tackled by the PH government now and not later.
But no more through the “lawatan sambil belajar” or visit jamborees to foreign lands which have become wasteful and expensive junkets at public expense.

My comments : Thank you NNH. I have been saying this for 10 years now. We allow too many problematic people from problematic countries easy access into the country. These are people with serious problems. And they will bring their problems here.
Nigerians and many Africans face numerous challenges in their home countries. They suffer lack of educationaol opportunities, lack of economic opportunities, lack of political freedoms and many other 'lacks'. Yet we allow them here by the hundreds of thousands. Surely you do not expect them to change their norms, cultures and social behaviours which made their countries such disasters in the first place? They bring all their 'weaknesses' with them to our country. If they are tourists staying for a few days its not too bad. But if they stay here permanently then of course they have to find a way to survive here. Which they do. Doing the same wrong things they did in their countries.
The same with people from the Middle East, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan or wherever who seem to suffer large doses of religious extremism. We really do not need their religious extremism here. Do not let them in the country so easily.
The problem of too many foreigners who cannot behave themselves, who cannot adjust to the Malaysian environment, who bring their own problems and troubles into the country is now becoming a real issue - an election issue.
The PH government is already fast losing its popularity for its gross incompetence. These foreigners and VOA issue will only make the people not want to vote for the PH government even more. Dont say I did not warn you.
The VOA is also just another method for corruption at our entry points. When will the corruption stop?
The following is from Norman Fernandez here. As I said this African problem is becoming a voting issue. Dont say I did not warn you.
