Rci Should Leave No Stone Unturned Says Nazri

Former law minister Nazri Abdul Aziz supports the formation of a Royal Commission of Inquiry to investigate the recent allegations of judicial misconduct
He said all allegations made by Court of Appeals judge Hamid Sultan Abu Backer must be investigated
"No stone should be unturned," Nazri told Malaysiakini
Nazri said he viewed the matter seriously, as some of the allegations made by Justice Hamid occurred during his time as a law minister between 2008 and 2013
Among the allegations made by Justice Hamid in an affidavit last week was that top judges were regularly summoned to the Court of Appeal panel that was hearing PKR president Anwar Ibrahim's Sodomy II case and briefed on how to conduct themselves
The prosecution's appeal in the Sodomy II trial took place between 2012 and 2014
Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad confirmed earlier today that the cabinet had agreed to form an RCI to probe the judge’s allegations
Meanwhile, Justice Hamid also alleged that a former minister had a hand in elevating the current crop of top judges following last year's general election
Nazri denied that this was him
"I've not heard of this, but it must also be investigated," he said
The Padang Rengas MP said Justice Hamid's affidavit must be taken seriously as he is a sitting judge
"Normally this is done after a person retires... as there is always the fear that he may lose seniority
"But he is a sitting judge... we must not make him a scapegoat
"We must support him. If this is not investigated, there will be an erosion of public confidence in the judiciary," Nazri added. - Mkini
