Rafizi Scoffs At Wild Dreams Of Pn Winning Three States
PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli says he’s confident PH can retain power in Selangor, Penang and Negeri Sembilan.SHAH ALAM: Perikatan Nasional’s “wild dreams” of winning power in three Pakatan Harapan-controlled states have been questioned by PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli.
He said the latest data showed that PH was still in a strong position to defend its governments in Selangor, Penang and Negeri Sembilan.
He expressed surprise at the “craziness” of PN’s claims that it could seize the three states when state assembly elections are held later this year.
“I don’t know where they got this dream of taking six states, especially Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, and Penang (from PH),” he said in his closing speech at PKR’s special national ongress.
He also claimed that based on their data, PH still has strong support from Malay voters, especially among the youth.
“Looking at the latest data, every month there is an increase in Malay voters among young people on the East Coast.”
Rafizi also urged PKR members not to follow the pace of the opposition’s preparations and instead work to streamline its own efforts to work together to face the state polls.
“I am confident that in three or four months (when state elections take place), we will retain power in Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, and Penang.
“And, depending on the efforts of our machinery in Kedah, PKR could pull a surprise there.”
Rafizi added that the party would use the state polls as a springboard towards building a strong presence in Kelantan and Terengganu too, both states which are traditionally PAS strongholds. - FMT
