Ph Backers Debate If Pmx Truly Treasures Dap Or Has No Qualms Making His Pkr Ally Sacrificial Lamb At Will
IT is indeed an irony that in the eyes of the UMNO grassroots and the opposition Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition, DAP is perceived to be no better than a ‘devil in disguise’.
(Focus Malaysia) – On the contrary, from the POV (point of view) of DAP loyalists, the party which by merit holds the golden key in the Madani government by virtue of winning the most seats in the 15th General Election (GE15) has by far been treated no better than a ‘pariah’ for having to give up its fangs to keep the Pakatan Harapan (PH) ship afloat.
To bluntly put it then, DAP finds itself screwed at both ends – externally and internally. Or poetically, ‘caught in between the devil and the deep blue sea’.
DAP chairman Lim Guan Eng (right) and the party’s former supremo Tan Sri Lim Kit Siang (middle) pays a courtesy call to Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim soon after he was appointed as Malaysia’s 10th PM in November 2022
This somehow runs parallel with the observation of PH backer Afiq 𝕏 (@A_Hxrrxz) as to how “hilarious yet disheartening to see Anwar (Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim) blatantly chose to side with UMNO over his longtime ally who is the biggest party in his government and his coalition”.
He was referring to DAP chairman Lim Guan Eng who declared that the party stands in solidarity with its vice-chairman Teresa Kok who came under fire by both rightist UMNO Youth chief Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh in addition to Bersatu and PAS over her constructive opposition to JAKIM’s proposal to moot a mandatory halal certification for all pork/alcohol-free eateries.
This probably has come about after the six-term Seputeh MP was subject to police probe over 3R incitement as well as finding herself thrown under the bus after Anwar who is also the PH chairman claimed that Kok’s stance was her own view while ticking her off for ‘rocking the boat’ by not leveraging the internal channel to seek an amicable solution.
“(This) is in his compulsive attempt to win over voters who are mostly dead set against voting for him and his coalition regardless while alienating more of PH support base,’ lamented the social media influencer on the X platform.
“He’s so lucky that DAP continues to put up with his nonsense. Hats off to DAP for having such a humongous open heart that continues to absorb all the nonsense from its allies like a sponge.”
