Payment Arrears To Terengganu Fc S Foreign Players Settled Before Fifa Sanction
Terengganu Football Club Sdn Bhd (TFCSB) had settled all outstanding payments to Terengganu FC’s (TFC) foreign players from last season, before the official decision from the International Federation of Association Football (Fifa) was issued.
In a statement today, TFCSB informed that it has carried out its responsibility professionally and complied with international football legal procedures.
"TFCSB would like to clarify the issue being discussed, which involves the transfer ban imposed by Fifa on TFC recently. For everyone’s information, TFCSB made payments to foreign players from last season, even before Fifa issued the official decision.
“Such action was taken as the club's commitment to resolve the matter according to regulations," the statement said.
It was reported that TFC became the latest Super League team to be placed on the transfer ban list after Fifa imposed the sanction last Friday.
A check on the international football governing body's website found that TFC cannot be involved in any transfer activity for the next three windows.
In the meantime, TFCSB also informed that it has sent an official letter to the world football governing body to notify them of the settled payments.
The management is still awaiting an official response from Fifa and will comply with anything stipulated according to the enforced regulations.
"TFCSB is always committed to acting professionally and transparently, in addition to ensuring that every club-related matter is resolved according to valid guidelines.
“The club will share the latest developments as soon as the decision from Fifa is received," the statement added.
