Oppo A5 Pro 5g Gabungan Bajet Dan Kelas Bawahan
I’m not quite sure what to make of the OPPO A5 Pro 5G after seeing its official price. I’ve been using this latest addition to OPPO’s A series for a few weeks now, and while it performs adequately, the PhP 15,999 sticker price caught me off guard—it’s a bit on the high side for a budget phone. Sure, it’s got 5G and some nifty AI features, but is that really enough to justify the cost?
OPPO A5 Pro 5G Specs
Processor: MediaTek Dimensity 6300
RAM: 8GB (can expand to 16GB)
Storage: 256GB
Display: 6.67-inch HD (1,604 x 720) IPS LCD at 120Hz
Cameras: 50MP main, 2MP monochrome, 8MP selfie
Battery: 5,800mAh with 45W SUPERVOOC fast-charging
After testing it out, I can see that the A5 Pro improves on several aspects compared to its predecessor, the A3. For starters, it now sports triple IP ratings—IP69, IP68, and IP66—making it more robust against water and dust. It can definitely keep up with the times, no matter the weather.
Design and Build
Sticking to its minimalist design, you can choose between Bloom Pink or Mocha Brown. The phone has a smooth frame and a hydrophobic back, which means it can get a bit slippery. Fun fact: once the water evaporates, the grip improves!
The camera setup on the back is pretty big, and the flash has a new donut shape, which, honestly, looks a tad quirky. The phone feels quite bulkier when you use a case, more so compared to other midrange devices.
Display and Usability
One of the cool features is the display’s water resistance; it won’t ghost-touch even with droplets on it. For someone who’s constantly checking their phone, like texting while cooking, that’s super handy. You can crank the brightness up to 1,000 nits, which helps outdoors. Just don’t expect mind-blowing visuals at HD resolution.
Performance
For multitasking, like using Google Maps while checking Facebook or watching YouTube, the phone does slow down. You’ll need a bit of patience with it. Sure, it can handle casual games like Clash Royale and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, but if you’re looking to do intense gaming, you might hit some bumps.
AI and Connectivity Features
A standout feature is the AI LinkBoost 2.0, which helps improve network performance in tricky areas, like when you’re in a moving MRT. I noticed the phone kept its 5G connection much better than my previous device during a train ride. Coupled with a 360° Surround Antenna, it offers a stable experience even when you’re on the go.
Camera Performance
The cameras are decent for everyday shots. The 50MP main camera captures enough details, but if you’re hoping for the quality of a flagship phone, you might be disappointed. Low-light photos can be hit or miss unless you’re steady; otherwise, they may come out blurred.
Final Thoughts
Now, about the pricing—it feels like OPPO is trying to blend budget and midrange features as if to keep up with the market. The non-5G variant is only PhP 10,999, which makes it a solid choice if you’re after good performance at a lower price.
However, if gaming or high-quality displays are what you’re after, there are better options out there for a similar price. All in all, while the A5 Pro isn’t a total letdown, it might be a better buy if they slashed the price a bit. It’s still a utility phone at heart, just a fancier one.
