Offers Of Money Positions To Warisan Reps Are Far Fetched Stories Says Kitingan
(FMT) – Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR) president Jeffrey Kitingan has chided Warisan and Sabah DAP leaders over their claims that some of their assemblymen had been offered money and positions to defect to the opposition.
He urged them to stop accusing former Sabah chief minister Musa Aman of trying to woo assemblymen and described claims that “political agents” offering money and positions to assemblymen as “far-fetched stories”.
“Perhaps Warisan leaders are also afraid of their own shadows because memories of how they lured and hijacked Barisan Nasional (BN) elected representatives after the 2018 elections came flooding back (to them).
“People who are paranoid and full of suspicion are generally that way because they are the ones who employed such tactics.
“Contrary to Warisan’s accusations, we hear it’s Warisan president Shafie Apdal who tried to lure Perikatan Nasional-friendly elected representatives to switch allegiance to Pakatan Harapan (PH) with inducements to topple the PN federal government.”
He also said there was talk that Warisan had threatened its assemblymen and even hid them out of fear that they would jump ship.
“We have even seen drones flying into some leaders’ homes to spy on who comes and goes.
“If Warisan is so confident of their strength, support and the loyalty of their elected representatives, there is no need to issue statements, mount psywars and send drones to spy on the opposition’s movements.”
Yesterday, Sabah DAP alleged that its seven assemblymen were offered money and positions to defect amid claims that the state government would soon fall to the opposition.
Two of its assemblymen lodged police reports after being visited by what they claimed to be “political agents” from “the other side” over the past two days.
