For the traveler of culture lovers, the vihara is one of the interesting tour destinations visited. However, before coming to the place, there are 7 important things you should notice.
As a place of worship, the vihara apparently not only visited by the Buddhists. Besides it, this place also attractive to other people, particularly the traveler because the culture that are stored there.
But, did you know that there are rules that are is important to note before coming to the vihara? here's 7 important things to note before coming to the monastery:
1. Take off shoes and hats

Vihara is a place of buddhist worship. For that you obligatory maintain the cleanliness, especially in prayer location. Once entering the prayer area, immediately take off your shoes without being asked.
Besides it, do not forget to open the cap. Again this to show honor you to the Buddhists. People who go into a place of worship with using the hat has the impression of arrogant. You certainly do not want to be labeled arrogant because not take off cap, is not it?
2. Wear clothing with polite

So choose to come to a place of worship, means you must be ready to wear clothing with courtesy. The clothes which supposing show shoulder and ingredients advisable do not be used. This as a form of homage you to the place of worship.
3. Turn off the phone

In order not to interfere worship ummah in the vihara, you should turn off the phone. Imagine how upset people who are fervently worship, but suddenly lost his concentration because of the sound of the phone.
4. Do not touch the statue of Buddha

Here it is another important thing that must be considered, do not ever touch the statue of Buddha especially without permission. If curious and want to touch the statue of Buddha, you must request permission first to administrators vihara or monk there.
5. Ask before taking photos

As a memento, surely many traveler who wants to photograph the vihara. Either part the outside, part in, or also ummah who are worship always interesting to be photographed.
However, before directing the camera lens to the object, ask first whether allowed to photographed. Once again this as a form of homage us to the house of worship and ummah who are worship.

6. Do not eat in the vihara

To maintain hygiene, do not eat during were in the vihara. Eat before or after completion of visiting the vihara. Do not let your arrival instead make the vihara became dirty.
7. Ask rules before take pictures with a statue of Buddha

Beautiful Buddha statues, make many traveler want to take pictures with him. Eits, do not directly take pictures, but ask first whether there are prohibition and certain rules.
Some vihara usually allow during posing with courtesy. But in Ceylon  the rules of photographed statue of Buddha in the vihara is very tight. Travelers should not be photographed backs to Buddha because it is considered not polite.
