Mykasih Kapital Programme Benefits 17 000 Women Entrepreneurs

When commenting on Kada hydroponic planting project, which is in its pilot stage, Rina (right) said it is aimed at helping women, including housewives. - NSTP/SHARIFAH MAHSINAH ABDULLAHBACHOK: About 17,000 women entrepreneurs have benefited from the 'MyKasih Kapital' programme since it was introduced nationwide more than a year ago.
Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rina Mohd Harun said among other things, the programme had helped entrepreneurs to generate income from home.
"Through 'MyKasih Kapital', women entrepreneurs are trained and encouraged to generate income from home like selling kuih and other businesses.
"We (the government) only provide them a small allocation to help them start. Apart from allocating them with the cash aid as capital for them to start their businesses, we also give them moral support.
"We can see their efforts in doing the business as a majority of them managed to generate income ranging between RM200 to RM5,000 a month, " she told a press conference after visiting the Kemubu Agriculture Development Authority (Kada)'s hydroponic planting project here today.
Also present were the ministry's secretary-general Datuk Dr Maziah Che Yusoff and Kada chairman Datuk Kamarudin Md Nor.
The MyKasih Kapital programme began on March 8, 2021, in conjunction with the International Women's Day celebration.
Rina said the success of these women entrepreneurs proved that they could earn some income, and that they only needed a little help from the government in order to get their businesses started.
