More Places In Selangor To Go Under Lockdown

Two localities in Kuala Lumpur – PPR Pantai Ria and PPR Taman Bukit Angkasa – will also be under EMCO from July 1 until July 14.PETALING JAYA: Three more localities in Selangor, including Mentari Court, PJS 8, Taman Perumahan SS 91A in Sungai Way and Pangsapuri Westlite – PKNS will go under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) from July 1 until July 14.
In a statement, senior minister for security Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the health ministry has recorded 137 cases at Mentari Court, PJS 8, 64 cases at Taman Perumahan SS 9A, Sungai Way and 215 cases at Pangsapuri Westlite – PKNS. All three localities in Petaling Jaya have high infectivity rates.
Meanwhile, two localities in Kuala Lumpur – People’s Housing Project (PPR) Pantai Ria and Taman Bukit Angkasa – will also be subject to EMCO from July 1 until July 14.
On travel restrictions, he said the added restrictions for visitors going into Labuan will be extended indefinitely.
Previously, the extra restrictions were set to end on June 30.
Ismail said from July 1, travellers to Labuan would need to do a mandatory RT-PCR test three days before their flight.
There would also be a ten-day mandatory quarantine for Labuan residents and for civil servants. Foreigners from overseas will need to go under a 14-day quarantine.
Other areas that will go under the full lockdown include Kampung Kubang Jela in the Manir subdistrict in Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu and also Kampung Balung Cocos in Tawau, Sabah.
Speaking on active EMCOs, Ismail said the EMCO affecting two localities in Penampang, Sabah – Country Heights Apartment and Vista Minintod Apartment – will end at 11.59pm tonight.
Meanwhile, the EMCO at PPR Taman Ehsan in Kudat; Kampung Rancangan and Kampung Kijang Merotai in Kalabakan; Kampung Tanjung Batu Tengah and Taman Semarak Megah in Tawau; Kampung Rampayan and Kampung Kionsom Kecil in Kota Kinabalu; and Kampung Taun Gusi Peninting in Kota Belud, Sabah will end tomorrow.
In Sarawak, the EMCO at two villages – Kampung Goebilt and Kampung Muara Tebas in Kuching will also end tomorrow.
On the arrests yesterday, Ismail said police arrested 680 individuals, of whom 659 were fined, 20 remanded and one given bail.
Among the offences were not wearing face masks (96), failure to record personal details or check in with MySejahtera (117), crossing district and state borders without police permission/dining in (129), no physical distancing (184), not complying to movement control order regulations (57), going beyond the car passenger limit (47), premises going against SOPs (8), and others (42).
Ismail also said enforcement had ordered three factories and nine premises to close during checks yesterday. - FMT
