It's the time of the year to do a Mid-Year Book Freak Out Tag. Okay, I am not sure if have I ever done it before. Honestly, I am not sure and I am just...well, let's left that behind and focus to this year book tag. Should I freak out? Because I think I should. We are already in the half of the year 2019, you guys. According to the Goodreads Reading Challenge, I am 4 books ahead from the schedule, I guess it should not freak me out, right? I hope so...LOL
Without further ado, let's begin the Mid-Year Book Freak Out Tag 2019!
🍒 Best Book You've Read So Far in 2019
Oh, God. This is really hard for me to answer. There are a number of books that I really love and enjoy so far in 2019. I can't pick one book, seriously no so... Here are the best books I have read so far in 2019...
Told ya, I can't pick one because there are honestly so many amazing books I have read this year and these four are exceptionally the best book I have read so far in 2019.
↣ The Weight of Our Sky by Hanna Alkaf. It is a story that relates closely to us, it is in our country's (Malaysia) history. Read my review here.
↣ The Night Tiger by Yangsze Choo. Set in Malaya in the 1930s. To be precise, it is located around Perak. The Night Tiger is cover with mystery, secrets, mystical, superstitious and ancient Chinese folklore also romance plus a were-tiger. I can't say no to that. Anyway, do read my review here.
↣ The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson. Unexpectedly I love this book. Like so much. Sadly, I haven't reviewed it yet on the blog. Duh. Typical Fatina.
↣ Nancy Drew: The Palace of Wisdom by Kelly Thompson. My first ever reading a graphic novel and surprisingly I am really enjoying. Oh, surprise surprise I review the book. So, here is the review.
↣ Oh no! I forgot to include, Natalie Tan's Book of Luck and Fortune by Roselle Lim. This book is amazing. Not to mention, the food that been cooked makes my mouth watering. Seriously!
I love love it. Here is my review.
My first question took about 40 minutes to answers. Opss!
🍒 Best Sequel You've Read So Far in 2019
I don't think that I read that many books that have a sequel, however, these two are what comes to my mind first.
↣ I love The Mortal Instruments and I love The Dark Artifices which I am so freaking excited to read The Infernal Devices. Though I have only the first book in The Infernal Devices but I can say that Cassandra Clare's book truly phenomenal and I'm enjoying. I certainly need to pick up the next book in the sequel soon. The review is here.
↣ Malamander (The Legends of Eerie-on-Sea) by Thomas Taylor is a Middle-Grade book which surprisingly so good. Seriously. Here is my review.
🍒 New Release You Haven't Read Yet But Want To...

...
I seriously looking forward to reading this book soon. I heard so many amazing about these three books. Certainly, going to buy these soon!
🍒 Most Anticipated Release For the Second Half of the Year
As soon as I heard there will be the next book in Cassidy Blake series by Victoria Shwab, I could not contain my excitement for it to be out soon. And not to forget the next series in Legacy of Orisha by Tomi Adeyemi. Oh my my, there are so many amazing books going to be out soon in the world which I could not wait to get my hands on them. Holly Black? I have not yet read The Wicked King and now, The Queen of Nothing will be published soon? I need to speed up my reading. And Loki? I am so curious to read that one.
🍒 Biggest Disappointment
I - this is by far the first book that I am so disappointed. It just does not work for me at all. Many people love this book so much and yet, it is not for me although, I really want to like it and no, I couldn't.
🍒 Biggest Surprise
I haven't try to read any graphics novel yet but this year I decided to try out one. I don't put any expectation on it because I - I'm not sure myself if I'm going to like it. To my surprise, I love it and just so you know, I bought one graphics novel last month. Indeed, that surprises me too.
Daisy Jones & The Six's format is different from other novels I read which surprisingly makes me enjoy reading them so much. Love the book, love the story, love the format. For sure, I want to try read other novels by Taylor Jenkins Reid since I hear so many great things on her other novels.
🍒 Favourite new author (debut or new to you)
All of these are a new author to me and I am so grateful to be exposed to this new amazing authors. Excited to read their new books also their other published books in the future!
🍒 Newest Fictional Crush
This is by far my newest and still fictional crush since early 2019 and it seems that no one can beat this guy yet. And the guy from Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices#1) by Cassandra Clare that I have a crush on is William Herondale. I know I know, he is this really annoying guy but he is so charming. I just...been captivated by him. 🤩
🍒 Newest Favourite Character(s)
I know it's been in a few of Natalie Tan's Book of Luck & Fortune that been mentioned in this book tag but I couldn't how amazing this book is. I love it. Natalie Tan, she is a very relatable character in real life. I know sometimes I do avoid from the problem that I should be facing and that's what Natalie Tan has done in her life though I may not be doing what she had done but you get the point. The most thing I like her character is that she tries her best to straighten all the things although she failed at first and almost give up, however, with the great words that she needs, she gathered her courage to make it better. Oh, did I mention, her cook makes my mouth-watering? Yes, she did. That aspires me to be a better cook.
🍒 Book(s) That Made You Cry
It's Natalie Tan's Book of Luck & Fortune by Roselle Lim. I seriously cried.
🍒 Book(s) That Made You Happy
One, Natalie Tan's Book of Luck & Fortune by Roselle Lim. Because of the food and Natalie Tan's effort fixed things up and succeed.
Two, Nancy Drew: The Palace of Wisdom by Kelly Thompson. Because it is my first graphic novel and two, Nancy Drew has always been my favourite.
Both of these makes me happy.
🍒 Most Beautiful Book(s) You Bought or Received So Far This Year...
Books on the left is an ARC which I received from Pansing Distribution (Thank you!). The title of the book is All We Could Have Been by T.E. Carter and that is so beautiful. I love looking at it.
While the other book title The Improbable Theory of Ana & Zak by Brian Katcher was the book I bought last month which is impromptu. I just took the book without reading the synopsis. It is all because of the book cover. Love it!
🍒 Book(s) You Need To Read By End of This Year
These three books I heard nothing but all wonderful, wonderful things only. Also, reading by the synopsis, I know I will fall in love with the story instantly. All in a serious note, I need to pick this book up soon!
Fuhhh! I finally managed to answer all these questions in a span of two days. Yeah, two days! Not kidding you at all. For that, you too need to answer these questions because why not? It is fun and we can track books that we love and whatnot.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy reading my answers to all these questions! xx
