Maybe Freemason Is Coming Back
BREAKING fast in other faith's house of worship!
To Pakatan Harapan, its a method to promote unity and interfaith understanding. Vesak and Ramadan. Its good but to many Muslims, its an insult as there are mosques and surau around.
I am not so pious but in a country where Islam is an official religion, Islam values must be upheld notwithstanding how much we tolerate other religions and respect them. This is Ramadan. Vesak is well-received and treated with due recognition.
However, to demean Islam as a way to portray how liberal your politics are, is distasteful and in some ways met with condemnation from Muslim scholars. Some say its 'melacurkan Islam dan masjid serta suraunya'.
Why?
Because the idea of liberalism is fast becoming a stigma among Pakatan leaders. To them, 'oil and water' won't mix even if they are together but since Malaysia is a Muslim nation, why not we invite believers of other faiths to join the Muslims for a 'buka puasa' at a mosque instead?
As Prime Minister Tun Mahathir said, those wanting to erect their own mosque will not get any assistance from the government. I wonder if other faiths want to build their own house of worship?
Maybe there are motives for all this. As Islam is fast facing onslaught under Pakatan Harapan - while the Muslims had never done it on others - one this is certain, that the Malaysian Muslims must struggle on their own to put their religion on the right footing.
They government wants liberalism. Maybe Dr M still remember the time when Freemason even had a house in KL during the late 70s...
