Malaysian X (previously known as Twitter) users have Beyoncé Knowles' social media team all perplexed.
This was after many Malaysian political memes - mostly related to PAS - were posted on X promoting the American singer’s ‘Renaissance World Tour’.
That thread started off with a Sep 20 post with a photograph of Beyoncé dressed in a lime green tight leather outfit against a green backdrop while holding a large white sphere - conjuring an image that some Malaysian netizens found both familiar and amusing.
"What do the comments under this post mean?" wrote the tour's official X account @RenaissanceWT today.
@RenaissanceWT was referring to replies to their Sep 20 thread that contained iconic photographs of PAS supporters and leaders.
These included photographs of PAS supporters marching in medieval battle gear and their penchant for erecting replicas of war machines such as tanks and battleships during election campaigns.
Some sarcastic netizens remarked that Beyoncé's new world tour showed that the "Green Wave" is going global.
Numerous users also urged PAS to recruit Beyoncé - a multi-platinum singer famed for songs such as "Run The World" - as a member.
Most of these posts were obvious tongue-in-cheek references to PAS' well-known abhorrence towards foreign artistes performing in Malaysia.
Recently, some PAS leaders were against the idea of Coldplay performing in Kuala Lumpur in November.
The ‘Renaissance World Tour’ is an ongoing show that began in May and involves only European and North American venues.
This tour was in support of her seventh studio album ‘Renaissance’. - Mkini
