PETALING JAYA: Picture of a man 'kissing the hand' of Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang may look like me, but it’s not me, says Gerakan president Datuk Dr Dominic Lau.
He claimed Pakatan Harapan’s tactics to "demonise" Gerakan’s cooperation with PAS were expected to be intensified during the coming state elections.
"The attacks by Pakatan cybertroopers have now started and they put up pictures of someone who looks like me 'kissing the hand' of PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang.
"It may look like me, but it is definitely not me," said Lau, showing a post on a social media account depicting someone resembling him bending down and kissing the hand of Abdul Hadi.
He said that Pakatan could continue to slam PAS, but Gerakan would not be swayed.
"We know PAS better as we can compare their sincerity with the Barisan Nasional parties.
"When we were in Barisan, whenever we asked for help from the other parties, they would send volunteers but we would have to fork out money.
"We were surprised that when we requested help from Perikatan Nasional component parties to put up flags in the constituencies we were contesting in the last general and state elections, PAS sent us 30 members, who only wanted 'one bun and one bottle of mineral water' in return.
"We gave 32 packs and they returned two packs. That is how sincere PAS members are," said Lau at a media conference after launching the Selangor Gerakan annual general assembly at its headquarters here on Saturday (June 25). - Star
