Perdana Botanical Gardens The Perdana Botanical Garden, formerly known as Taman Tasik Perdana or Lake Gardens, is situated in the Heritage Park of Kuala Lumpur. It has always been a part of the green lung of the city and has a history of over a decade.
Originally created as part of a recreational park but planted with collections of tropical plants, the garden have been rehabilitated and turned into a Botanical Garden.

The garden have not only botanical collections but also house features that give the visitors the ambiance of being in a tropical rainforest, despite being in the middle of a bustling metropolis. More information
Kuala Lumpur Bird Park Kuala Lumpur Bird Park is well known as the “World’s Largest Free-flight Walk-in Aviary”, home to more than 3,000 birds of approximately 200 species of local and foreign birds. The Park offers 20.9 acres of valley terrain to be explored, divided into four zones; Zone 1 and 2 make up the freeflight zone; Zone 3 is the Hornbill Park and Zone 4 is where birds are placed in separate cages and mini aviaries. This is a paradise for nature lovers and photographers who desire close-up views of these rare delicate butterflies fluttering around beautiful flowers, plants, ferns and flowering vines.

Other attractions of this park are the Japanese Koi fish, fresh water turtles, live insects and a museum with a large collection of butterflies and insects from around the world.
Kuala Lumpur Orchid Garden The Orchid Garden houses up to 800 species of orchids. The garden comprises a semi-circle pergola for the climbing and epiphytic variety and a rock garden for the terrestrial variety.

Some of the attractions in the garden include a 4-metre high waterfall, pools and fountains. A lovely colonial style building has been converted into an exhibition hall with a tearoom and a gallery.

The mousedeer, also known as the chevrotain, is the smallest hoofed animal in the world. The other species that are in the park are the fallow deer, axis deer and sambar deer.

This verdant area accentuated with specially designed water features is a work of art. It features various amenities such as a two-acre children’s playground, symphony fountain, wading pool, jogging track, shelters and benches, patterned foot-paths and sculptures. Approximately 1,900 indigenous trees and palms representing 74 species are planted to encourage bio-diversities within the park areas.
Another striking feature of the park is the Lake Symphony which comprises two water fountains. Located at the esplanade outside Suria KLCC, the Lake Symphony is programmed to provide 150 magical dramatic animations. The total effect is a light hearted and gregarious atmosphere.

Titiwangsa Park Taman Tasik Titiwangsa is a recreational park with a large lake as its main attraction. A popular rendezvous amongst city dwellers, it offers tennis courts, an exercise area, a playground for children and other recreational facilities for water sports, jogging and the like. Located nearby is the Remote Control (RC) Car track that is complete with a drivers platform and seating for spectators, making it a popular attraction among RC enthusiasts on the weekends.

Also within the vicinity of the park is a stadium. This 95 hectares park is a vast area that consists of a 57 hectares lake where anglers will be glad to know that they are allowed to fish here. Other facilities at the park include a Remote Control car track, a cycling track, a football field, a boathouse and aquatic activities, a viewing tower, playground and pavilion.
KL Forest Eco Park Kuala Lumpur is the only city in the world that has a natural rainforest situated right at its centre. The KL Forest Eco Park (formerly know as the Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve) was gazetted as a forest reserve in 1906 and is one of the oldest in Malaysia.
Situated near the forest is one of the city’s skyline icons, the Kuala Lumpur Tower, which was constructed with utmost attention being paid to the environment to ensure that the natural surroundings of KL Forest Eco Park remain undisturbed.

Forest Research Institute of Malaysia (FRIM) The Forest Research Institute of Malaysia (FRIM) is located in Kepong, Kuala Lumpur. Established 75 years ago, it is undoubtedly one of the leading institutions in tropical forestry research in the world. FRIM offers a back-to-nature experience whilst enjoying the flora, fauna, landscapes and the remains of an old Orang Asli settlement.
A waterfall and river cutting through this forest reserve adds serenity to this luxuriant landscape. FRIM is a truly educational place for children as well as a great weekend outing place for the entire family. For the more adventurous ones, check out the four jungle tracks: Keruing Trail, Rover Track, Engkabang Trail and Salleh Trail, all of which will take visitors through some of the spectacular secondary forests in Malaysia.

The ideal place for kite enthusiasts, there is a huge field that runs parallel to the main road in the park that is specifically for this purpose. Most barriers and trees have been removed to ensure a clearance of at least 100m for the kites to take off.
