Jayzuan teamed up with Mohd Hazriq from Harmacy Band to keep “langlang” refreshingly simple. “We wanted to avoid over-complicating things,” he explains. “Simplicity brings out the soul.” This lo-fi vibe gives the album a cozy intimacy, like you’ve stumbled into someone’s late-night jam session.
The track titles—“Sondak,” “Nyelap Sador,” “Pukah”—feel like little riddles or personal mantras, reflecting a spiritual journey. They mirror Jayzuan’s emotional state: caught between worlds, unanchored but filled with significance.
From Ipoh to London, With Love
“langlang” isn’t just a local release—it’s making a global impact. The album’s being pressed in London, linking Projek Rabak with the wider Malaysian art scene and the European indie music vibe. “There are plenty of Malaysian artists in Europe, and we thought this was a great way to foster a lively label,” Jayzuan shares. “London just felt like the right move.”
But the adventure doesn’t stop here. The album art, created by Projek Rabak’s Iqbal Razak and shot by Dhan Illiani Yusof during Jayzuan’s time in Berlin, adds a visual layer to “langlang’s” narrative. It’s not just an album cover—it’s a memento from a life in motion.

After spending years in contemporary art and writing, Jayzuan is ready to bring his sound back, this time as Joni Mustaf. While his solo projects take a backseat, expect more exciting sonic adventures from this creative, emotional side of him.
