Crime of passion: Police and a forensics team at the location where the murder suspect said that he had buried the body.
SUBANG JAYA: Police investigations have started following a confession by an Indian national that he had killed his lover’s husband, another Indian national.
The confession on Feb 2 led to his arrest in Ampang Jaya after he told a complainant about the alleged murder.
“The confession was made within Ampang Jaya, and following that, a police team from the Ampang Jaya district conducted the questioning.
“The suspect then showed the location where the victim was killed and where the body was buried,” Subang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said in a statement yesterday.
Following the confession, the suspect and the 25-year-old victim’s wife – also an Indian national – were arrested.
Police are still ascertaining if the wife was involved in the murder.
According to the suspect, the victim was killed at an old folks home in Subang Jaya where all three were colleagues.
Follow up investigations led to Subang Jaya police and the Forensics Department finding a plastic sheet that is believed to have been used to wrap the body.
“On Feb 3, at around 2.30pm, three women were arrested to assist investigations.
“All suspects, aged between 25 and 35 years old, are workers at the old folks home,” said Asst Comm Wan Azlan.
The police believe that the victim was killed in May 2022, with the body buried shortly after the murder.
The suspect is believed to have committed the murder because the victim found out about the wife’s alleged affair. - Star
