Hulu Langat Residents To Get Water Supply Back By 10pm
Air Selangor says the supply restoration process to 472 other areas will be announced later.PETALING JAYA: The Semenyih 2 water treatment plant is in operation and supply to the residents in the Hulu Langat district will be fully restored by 10pm today, Air Selangor said.
However, it said the supply restoration process for the 472 other affected areas involving three other treatment plants would be announced later.
The utility company said the Sungai Langat water treatment plant had resumed operations but the supply restoration process was being worked on.
“For the Air Langat 2 plant, the raw water pumping process has started. The supply recovery process will be announced later.
“As for the Cheras Batu 11 plant, the process of cleaning the water treatment plant following the flood incident is underway. Air Selangor is unable to confirm as to when it will be fully operational,” it said in a statement.
Air Selangor said alternative assistance through water tanker trucks was being provided in stages to the affected areas, giving priority to critical premises.
Yesterday, it said floods had affected three water treatment plants – Cheras Batu 11, Air Langat 2 and Sungai Langat – and disrupted water supply to 472 areas in the Klang Valley.
Later, it also announced the shutting down of the Semenyih 2 plant because of the increase in water level entering the raw water pump house and, as a result, supply to 70 areas in Hulu Langat was affected.
