Malaysia’s government has been kerajaan gagal since the 1980s. That is why in the mid-1980s many of us turned anti-Umno and anti-Barisan Nasional. And that is why we supported PAS, and then Semangat 46 when Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah launched his new party in 1988.
Hence for 40 years Malaysia’s government has been kerajaan gagal, even since Tun Hussein Onn stepped down to make way for Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to take over.
When Pakatan Harapan took over in May 2018, the kerajaan gagal policies of the 37 years years before that continued. Nothing changed.
Then the Pakatan Harapan government collapsed and on 1st March 2020 the new Perikatan Nasional government took over. And it was still kerajaan gagal. Nothing changed.
Then that government collapse as well, and the new Barisan Nasional government took over. And it is still kerajaan gagal until today. Yet, again, nothing has changed.
So all governments from 1981 until today are kerajaan gagal. And all government agencies such as PDRM, SB, MACC, AGC, BNM, etc., serve the politicians in power. That has been so for 40 years until today. Nothing has changed. Still kerajaan gagal since 1981 until today.
So stop taking Malaysians for a ride and pretending that this is a new problem since so-and-so took over, and that before this Malaysia’s government was not kerajaan gagal. Why do you think Tun Hussein Onn and Tunku Abdul Rahman refused to join Umno Baru in 1988 and chose to die outside Umno? That is because Malaysia’s government has been kerajaan gagal since the 1980s, right until today.
