Ft Minister And Predecessor In Heated Exchange Over A Twitter Post
Federal Territories Minister Annuar Musa and his predecessor Khalid Samad got into a heated Twitter exchange last night over the former’s Twitter posting
The exchange was ignited around 8.42 last night after Khalid posted a response to an earlier posting by Annuar on the use of aerial drones to sanitise and disinfect tall buildings and roads in Kuala Lumpur
On March 31, Annuar posted pictures of a drone hovering against the backdrop of the Petronas Twin Towers, with he and other officials looking at the drone from the ground and he stating that it was a test on the use of drones for sanitising and disinfecting the city
The posting by Annuar, the former Umno secretary-general, also stated that this work needed to be done extensively as it involved tall buildings and roads as well as public areas
Amanah member Khalid had then commented, in a reply on Twitter last night, that Annuar’s post was “hopefully fake news” due to the issue of whether entire buildings and roads actually needed to be sanitised
“Aduuuuh. Harap-harap fake news. Takkan bangunan dan jalan nak disanitisenya? Aduuuuh…” Khalid twitted
This had then led to Annuar responding, a few hours later around 11.33 last night, with a fiery reply that the work was not for sanitising but a demonstration by someone proposing that the ministry utilises drones
Annuar’s reply stated that one should not accept the matter wholesale, like buying land in Kampung Baru, but must study the matter first
“Lid Oi.. itu bukan sanitise.. Itu demo oleh pihak yg mencadangkan supaya kita guna drone.. kita jgn terima bulat bulat mcm nak beli tanah kg baru.. kita kaji dulu Lid,” Annuar twitted
As of 7.40am this morning, Annuar’s Twitter response has garnered 356 likes and 109 retweets, while Khalid’s “hopefully fake news” tweet garnered 279 likes and 40 retweets. - Mkini
