Forming Pact Or Going Solo Pn Still Undecided Muhyiddin
Perikatan Nasional has not made a final decision on whether to go solo or cooperate with other political parties in the next general election, according to its chairperson Muhyiddin Yassin.
The former prime minister, however, said the coalition is open to negotiating with any parties that want to fight BN.
"After the Johor state election, some parties said they wanted to meet (us), but that was in the past," he told a press conference after the PN convention in Serdang, Selangor.
"Perhaps they feel that the election is still far away, so they just leave it like that. Now as the election looms, are they coming back to talk with us? We are open for discussion because we know our arch enemy is BN.
"This is about BN's endless corruption and abuse of power and that's not good for the country," added the Pagoh MP.
However, when asked to confirm if PN will form a pact with BN as proposed by PN Youth chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari in his speech earlier today, Muhyiddin did not dismiss any possibility for both coalitions to work together.
There are plenty of possibilities that could happen based on the current political situation, noted Muhyiddin.
Earlier today, Fadhli called for PN to ensure a straight fight in the next election.
"It's hard for me to say for sure at this juncture. I am not saying we rule out or we welcome it (the formation of a pact), I don't know yet," said Muhyiddin.
"With the political turmoil and split that are taking place in Umno, the situation is uncertain...I don't want to talk about it (as yet)." - Mkini
