Finance Ministry To Help Emadani Applicants
Deputy Finance Minister Lim Hui Ying presented next year’s calendar to market goers and traders at Chowrasta Market. -NSTP/DANIAL SAADGEORGE TOWN: The Finance Ministry will resolve whatever issues arising from the eMadani cash handout.
Deputy Finance Minister Lim Hui Ying said she was aware of technical issues arising from the government initiative.
"It has only been launched. I know many who had received the eMadani cash handout.
"I also know many whose application were rejected although they had appealed.
"There are many technical issues. I will try to get more information before I can say anything further.
"We, at the ministry, will see what we can do to help solve the arising issues," she said.
She was met prior to a walkabout at the Chowrasta Market, where she presented next year's calendar to market goers and traders.
It was reported that the Finance Ministry had received over seven million applications for the RM100 eMadani credit as of Dec 4.
The e-Madani is a government initiative to disburse RM100 in e-credit to 10 million Malaysians aged 21 and above, with income below RM100,000 per annum, and who are not recipients of the past eBeliaRahmah credit.
It is a one-off incentive to encourage cashless transactions.The initiative is made possible via the Madani Economy Framework, which was announced in July.
Earlier, Lim, who is Tanjung member of parliament, said various initiatives had been carried out in her parliamentary constituency this year, amounting to RM3.7 million.
