Election Seat Talks Hotting Up In Ph Says Pkr Man
Seat negotiations in Pakatan Harapan are getting more lively, says PKR information chief.PETALING JAYA: General election seat negotiations in Pakatan Harapan (PH) are getting more lively and the coalition may be announcing new alliances soon, according to PKR information chief Fahmi Fadzil.
He said the focus had been on the 52 parliamentary seats previously contested by Bersatu when it was a member of the coalition.
He said PKR had decided not to negotiate with any party, including Muda, on the seats that PKR won in the 2018 general election, including the seats in Ampang, Gombak, Tebrau, Batu Pahat and Segamat which were won by PKR candidates who later switched to Bersatu.
“I see that the discussion among the leaders is getting more lively and it is possible that, in the near future, we will make an appropriate announcement,” he said, according to Berita Harian.

Fahmi Fadzil.“(Discussions have been about) what principles will we hold to for the distribution of seats, including in Sabah and Sarawak. This process is still ongoing even though there have been rumours that the election will be held this October,” he was quoted as saying.
Bersatu broke away from PH in February 2020, following the “Sheraton Move” which led to the collapse of the PH government after 22 months in power.
Fahmi did not reject the possibility of the youth party Muda joining PH, but said that PKR had not held any discussions on the matter. “I think we will be making an important decision soon,” he said. - FMT
