Covid 19 Saudi Arabia To Deliver Medical Aid Including One Million Doses Of Vaccines

PETALING JAYA: Saudi Arabia is set to deliver medical aid which includes one million doses of vaccines and various medical supplies and equipment to beef up Malaysia's war against the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), King Salman Abdulaziz Al Saud has directed the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) to urgently provide Malaysia the necessary medical equipment to fight Covid-19.
KSrelief adviser at the Royal Court and supervisor general Dr Abdullah Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah said the aid will include one million doses of Covid-19 vaccines, medical devices, care and treatment devices, preventive supplies and other medical needs.
"Dr Al Rabeeah extended his thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques (King Salman) and the Crown Prince for this gesture, which confirms the leadership's keenness to support sisterly countries around the world in various crises and circumstances," said SPA.
Meanwhile, in a statement, Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said the medical assistance by Saudi Arabia was a result of a recent phone call with Crown Prince Mohammad Salman on Sunday (July 25).
"Malaysia is extremely grateful for His Majesty King Salman's desire to assist us.
"Will work closely with the Crown Prince and Wisma Putra will work out details of the assistance from Saudi Arabia," said Hishammuddin.
Hishammuddin also thanked King Salman and described the medical aid rendered as a testament of genuine friendship between Malaysia and Saudi Arabia.
"It is a great honour and it reflects Saudi Arabia's sincerity in forging friendship with Malaysia," he added. - Star
