Cops Record Statements From Sanusi Hadi Guan Eng On 3r
Police have recorded statements from caretaker Kedah Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor, PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang and DAP chairperson Lim Guan Eng over three separate probes related to their alleged remarks touching on race, religion and royalty.
Sanusi and Lim had their statements recorded today, while Hadi was met by police at the PAS headquarters yesterday, according to Inspector-General of Police Razarudin Husain.
Berita Harian quoted Razarudin as saying that Bukit Aman's Criminal Investigation Department had recorded Sanusi's statement at a hotel in Bangsar early this morning while Lim was met in Penang.
"The investigation papers related to the three politicians are being completed before being submitted to the Attorney-General's Chambers by the latest by this Monday," he said.
Police yesterday confirmed investigations are ongoing against Sanusi over his remarks that allegedly insulted the Sultan of Selangor.
Meanwhile, Hadi is under probe for his remarks against DAP, alleging that the party intends to retain the meaning of Islam in the Federal Constitution.
The meaning is based on the British colonialists’ interpretation, which upholds liberalism and freedoms espoused by Western countries.
The Marang MP’s remarks were believed to have been made via a Facebook post on July 8.
As for Lim, Razarudin confirmed the investigation was related to his alleged remarks that a "Green Wave" - used about PAS and Perikatan Nasional - would destroy temples.
Lim previously claimed his statement had been misconstrued by a news portal that inaccurately translated his speech as first reported by a Chinese daily. - Mkini
