Chandramukhi 2, a Tamil-language comedy horror film, released on 28th September 2023. Directed by P. Vasu and produced by Subaskaran Allirajah under Lyca Productions, it serves as a standalone sequel to the 2005 movie “Chandramukhi” of Rajinikanth starrer. The film features Raghava Lawrence and Kangana Ranaut in the lead roles, supported by Vadivelu, Srushti Dange, and Lakshmi Menon.

CHARACTERS
 
Helmed by P Vasu, Chandramukhi 2 is the sequel to the blockbuster hit Tamil horror comedy film Chandramukhi which starred Rajinikanth and Jyothika in the lead roles.
 

In Chandramukhi 2, Kangana will portray the role of a dancer in the king's court, who was known for her beauty and dance skills. Tamil actor Raghava Lawrence will play the lead role opposite Kangana in the film. Produced by Lyca Productions and Subaskaran the film will release in September in Tamil in Malaysia.




DEVELOPMENT
 
In January 2020, P. Vasu revealed that he had finished scripting the sequel to Chandramukhi 2, and a producer had expressed interest in backing the film. Raghava Lawrence’s involvement in the project was reported, which he later confirmed on Twitter in April. He also announced that Sun Pictures would be producing the film.
 
In June 2022, Raghava shared that Lyca Productions had taken over as the film’s producer. Additionally, Vadivelu joined the cast, while Anthony, R. D. Rajasekhar, and Thota Tharani took charge of editing, cinematography, and art direction, respectively.
 

In November, it was revealed that Kangana Ranaut would be playing the lead female role in the movie. With these developments, Chandramukhi 2 promises to be an exciting continuation of the original film, with a talented team behind its production.


BUDGET
 
Chandramukhi 2 is estimated to be made on a budget of around Rs 40 Crores. The film will need to do extremely well at the box office to recover its budget amount. The original Chandramukhi film was a huge success at the box office and the same is expected from this movie
