On a serious note, cat owners may wonder why their feline friends love to position themselves on high places. It can either be on top of a refrigerator or even a bookshelf.
The website, The Spruce Pets, said cats have an instinctual need to observe their world from a high point because they’re both predators to small animals and prey to larger ones.
“Not only does a higher vantage point give cats a better view of potential prey, but it also offers them some protection,” said the website.
Also, it stated that the ancestors of these domesticated cats lived in the jungle where leaves and branches offer camouflage.
This is of course, a far cry from the sterile, man-made environment of the mall. But we suppose, our kitty cannot resist the vantage point offered by the giant teddy overlooking all the shoppers. — Focus Malaysia
