Bukit Aman Anwar S Interview Postponed To 13 October 2020
(The Star) – PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s impending interview with the police has been delayed to a later date, says Comm Datuk Huzir Mohamed.
The Bukit Aman CID director said police had initially called up the Port Dickson MP to come for questioning at 11am on Monday (Oct 12) in connection with police reports lodged on the list of MPs that supported him as premier.
“However, we were informed by his private secretary that he could only do so at 9am on Tuesday (Oct 13).
“Thus, we have delayed the recording of his statement to a later date that will be determined later,” he said in a statement Monday.
Comm Huzir said the police are investigating the case concerning the spread of a list of 121 MPs who supposedly supported Anwar, on social media.
“We have received six police reports regarding the matter, starting with a report lodged by the Jerantut MP on Oct 8.
“We are investigating under Section 233 of the Communication and Multimedia Act 1998, ” he added.
The Jerantut MP is Datuk Ahmad Nazlan Idris.
Comm Huzir reminded the public not to be alarmed by the spread of the news on the list of MPs.
“We urge all the parties involved not to spread news that has not been verified.
“We will not hesitate to take action against any party that spreads fake news or unverified news that could confuse the people, ” he added.
