Bangi S Dap Pas Reps Meet To Tone Down Partisanship Work On Local Issues

Putting aside political differences, two elected representatives in Bangi have come together in a show of bipartisan cooperation aimed at reducing tensions and focusing on community wellbeing.
ADSBangi MP Syahredzan Johan (DAP) and Sungai Ramal assemblyperson Shafie Ngah (PAS) held a casual meeting over coffee today, joined by Bangi Amanah chief Mazwan Johar, to discuss working together for the benefit of their constituents.
The three-way gathering took place at a cafe in Bandar Baru Bangi, with the leaders sharing about it on their respective Facebook pages.
In his post, Syahredzan described the meeting as harmonious and productive.
Syahredzan Johan“All three of us agreed to reduce political tensions in the Sungai Ramal constituency,” he said.
“We also agreed to focus on local issues and community development in the area. Political differences should not prevent us from strengthening our bonds with one another.”
‘Battles are for the election, now is time to work’
Shafie, meanwhile, said the meeting had been planned two weeks ago and involved open discussions on various matters affecting the community.
“We agreed to ease partisan political tensions in Bangi, especially in the context of government administration,” he said.
“We also agreed to focus on community development and solving local issues.”
Shafie NgahAccording to Shafie, the meeting reflected the sentiments of Bangi residents who preferred peace over political drama.
“People in Bangi don’t like conflict. We work and practise politics with maturity and harmony,” he said.
“The time for battle is during elections. Now is the time to work, and the main goal is victory for the people.”
In GE15, Bangi was one of the largest parliamentary constituencies, with more than 300,000 voters.
During the Selangor state election in 2023, the Sungai Ramal state seat alone recorded 97,415 registered voters.
Apart from Sungai Ramal, the Bangi parliamentary constituency also includes Kajang and Balakong, both held by Pakatan Harapan. - Mkini
