A Case Of The Pot Calling The Kettle Black
Sivaraman Murthy, Malaysiakini
I am not a politician, but I found a recent statement by PKR communications chief, Fahmi Fadzil pretty amusing.
It was akin to the pot calling the kettle black when he labelled another political party a “congregation of traitors”.
Did he look into his own backyard before remarking about others?
This is kind of below the belt politics which Malaysians politicians are famous for. Instead of accepting healthy political competition, they resort to low-down name-calling and political labelling.

For us voters, the more the merrier. More political parties with a larger pool of representatives give us the option of choosing the best.
To me, the only reason I can see as a layman is that Fahmi is probably either upset or scared that a new party may draw his own party members to leave.
When PKR was first formed, most of us strongly believed in what it stood for and that Pakatan Harapan was Malaysia’s hope for a better future.
Fahmi, nor any PKR representative is in no position to talk about another party. Look at the mess made when they finally got a chance to administer the country.
In less than two years, they were out and now, it is almost certain that they can never make a comeback.
Parties like PBM offer us voters something new … we are tired of seeing the likes of Mahathir Mohamad, Anwar Ibrahim, Lim Kit Siang and Lim Guan Eng.
We need a break from these same old faces and need new blood to take over. If PBM is prepared to offer this to voters, then it is indeed hope for a better tomorrow.
For now, it is best all politicians, including Fahmi, just keep their mouths shut and focus on what needs to be done for the people.
Calling each other traitors and the sorts is of no benefit to anyone.
