5 Students In Mrsm Bullying Case Out On Bail

Besut district police chief Azamuddin Ahmad said police have almost completed the investigation, and two more students will be released tomorrow, Berita Harian reported.
“The investigating officer will contact the families of the students involved on the next steps in the case,” he was quoted as saying.
Azamuddin said police are now in the process of obtaining the students’ school and medical records.
“We are also looking for witnesses to the incident to complete our investigation. The investigation paper will be referred to the deputy public prosecutor for further orders,” he said.
Police had identified and detained five Form Three students on Thursday over their alleged involvement in the bullying of a Form Two student.

Yesterday, Azamuddin was reported to have said that police arrested two more students after they presented themselves at the Besut district police headquarters with their families. This brought the total number of students detained to seven, comprising six Form Three students and one Form Five student.
Following the initial arrest of the five students, it was reported that the victim claimed he was forced to squat with slippers on his head for 40 minutes at about 11.30pm on Tuesday.
The victim also alleged he was punched in the abdomen and slapped in the face by several Form Three students at the hostel. - FMT
