Screenshots from the CCTV footage showed 12 masked robbers entering the bungalow in Pandamaran and escaping with RM600,000 in cash, jewellery and other valuables.
SHAH ALAM: Police have arrested 10 people, including a woman, in connection with an armed robbery in Pandamaran, Klang, last week.
Selangor police chief Hussein Omar Khan said one of the suspects was a 38-year-old man who was previously probed for murder and attempted murder.
He said another accomplice was linked to 13 robberies.
The suspects were arrested in Mantin, Negeri Sembilan, and the Klang Valley.
“Between Oct 3 and Oct 7, police arrested nine men and a woman, all aged between 23 and 46.
They are dangerous and believed to have been actively committing armed robberies in Selangor and Negeri Sembilan since last year, Hussein told a press conference here.
In the 5am incident last Thursday, the gang fled with RM600,000 in cash, valuable deities and jewellery. They slashed one of their victims, a 37-year-old man, on the shoulder with a parang.
The video of the robbery — captured on a closed-circuit TV camera — showed the group of masked parang-wielding robbers storming into the three-storey bungalow in Pandamaran and carting away the loot.
Police have recovered some of the stolen items, including the deities, and are pursuing two to four other gang members who are still at large.
Following the arrests, the authorities believe they have solved six cases in Selangor and seven in Negeri Sembilan.
In a separate case, Hussein said police had also nabbed a gang of burglars who had been active in Sabak Bernam, Selangor, since January this year.
The men, aged 30 to 40, were arrested in an operation in Kuala Lumpur and Subang Jaya on Oct 5 and 6.
These men have no documents and we are investigating how they entered the country. During the preliminary investigation, they admitted they are from China. - FMT
