Is Umno A Baggage In Pn
I HAD a good laugh when friends and foes asked about Umno's intention in the current political melancholy, and as to whether the president Zahid Hamidi really wanted his MPs to withdraw from Muhyiddin-led Perikatan Nasional.
Wondered how some of them came to a conclusion that the government might crumble before the coming Dewan Rakyat session on November 2nd, thus ditching the Budget 2021 scheduled for Nov 6.
Let me wrap it up for them. I believe Umno never had any intention to oust the government, let alone to let Anwar Ibrahim or Pakatan Harapan to come back again. Umno (maybe) sounded a threat to Bersatu in PN of its dissatisfaction but far from ruining the understanding that installed Muhyiddin as the PM.
(However, they are free to speculate and contemplate but until things are concluded, my take is that Umno is stil with the government).
When Muhyiddin name the Cabinet lineup, Umno and Barisan Nasional being the largest component in PN was turned into snowball vehicle and given 'nonsense' portfolios which made it adrift with the rakyat, the voters. Someone might have influenced Muhyiddin to do so with the intention to see the demise of Umno-BN in the next general election.
Umno ministers have no outreaching platform to the masses, hence making it isolated and dictated by Bersatu. I was also told that they were not included in any economic-related meetings as it turned out to be only-Bersatu domination. To them, Umno is a welcomed baggage.
If Umno is a baggage, may as well Umno finds another party that appreciates them. Why must Umno cling to someone dictation? And how long you think Umno can play stupid to the expense of its members' annoyance? They are very observant, and the fact that the Sabah state election prank by Bersatu was really getting to their nerves.
Some Umno MPs in PN are also tangoing to Bersatu's game and together with some factions (understood to of Azmin Ali and Hamzah Zainuddin camps) are training their bullets at Zahid and Umno, trying to get rid of him and others. I was also told of H20 and KJ who really want Zahid to call it a quit as the party president.
I am not labeling them of anything but if its true, then they deserved to be chopped off! Not my words but many members are pointing to such an action.
Another thing is, to betray friends is not in Umno's vocabulary but being prone and vulnerable to an act of betrayal is. Just as Hamzah, Tok Pa, Mas Emieryati and others. Ask Rais Yatim too. So, who are the betrayals? Self-interest... go ask them!
Umno is not power-crazy. It just wants a fair treatment. It also wants the government to be more benevolent to the people, especially during this difficult times of Covid-19.
Let me summarise it in simple words as it will be easy to understand. If Umno is a partner, treat it as a partner. For instance in Perak case, Umno has 25 seats as compared to Bersatu's four but the MB seat is given to Peja Azumu.
At Federal level, Umno holds the majority but is treated like a rival. If it is taken for granted, may as well that Umno choose the exit.
For Muhyiddin and Bersatu, weigh it well...to Hamzah, stop 'killing' our PM!
